Accompanying Persons Program
Accompanying persons can sign up for these and the symposium’s other social events on the registration page.
The following trips are exclusively for the accompanying persons.
Monday July 27: Exploring Gardens
The day involves a visit to the world-famous Royal Botanical Gardens in Burlington, Ontario, where you will visit an interpretive center and some of the 42 living collections spread over 5 gardens. Lunch is included.
Tuesday July 28: Learning about Guelph and Elora
The day begins with a brief tour of downtown Guelph and the Basilica of Our Lady. Then we move to the beautiful village of Elora and explore its small-town charm. The afternoon offers lunch, quaint shops and a river gondola ride to see cliff fossils.
Thursday July 30: A day of local history and culture
The day begins with a visit to Crawford Lake Conservation Area where you will see a reconstructed 15th century Iroquoian village and several longhouses that display contemporary Indigenous art and culture. A short journey to the community of St. Jacobs lands you at a famous market where you can explore crafts from the local Mennonite and Amish communities. Lunch is included.
Each of these events require a minimum number of registrants.
